CLS Services - Training Programs
Field Study Trips provide overviews of the Canadian livestock industry, practical production information and roles of governments, universities and research institutions in supporting the industry.

- Meet industry decision-makers: purebreeders and commercial cattlemen, dairy farmers, researchers, and government extension specialists.
- Keyed to government officials, businessmen, investors, farm managers, senior staff and technical specialists.
- To ensure optimum individual learning, no more than 7 to 10 people is ideal.
- Bring your own experienced translators or we can provide translators at cost.
- All landed costs are covered in quoted price. Trainees are responsible only for airfare to Canada and personal spending while in Canada.
- Leisure activities on weekends (if desired and time permitting) can include cultural and sporting events, a trip to CanadaÕs Rocky Mountains, shopping at CanadaÕs largest shopping mall and seasonal activities as available.

Classroom Training
- Including formal classroom training sessions with field study tours can provide detailed technical information to achieve more fully the goals of the delegation.
- Five or more days of classroom training, emphasizing basics of beef cattle breeding and selection (cow-calf), pasture and grazing (cow-calf) feeds and nutrition, production and financial management, health, facilities and marketing.
- Instruction level assumes a certain minimum technical background e.g. zootech (animal science) diploma or degree or experience equivalent.
- Translated course material (handouts), teaching material and visuals
- An instructional day will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with 1.5 hours for lunch (hours flexible depending on activity).
- Individual sessions are expected to be approximately one hour (English plus translation), including questions and discussion, and "comfort breaks.
- Courses available in beef cow-calf, feedlot, dairy, pork and alternative livestock.
- Special upgrading courses for Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination technicians

Canada Livestock Services can quotations for training based on number of people, number of days, and itinerary.
Quotations include:
- Accommodations (shared, two per room, two beds), and meals and snacks.
- Ground transportation to various locations in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
- Instructors, guest lecturers, classrooms, equipment
- Miscellaneous expenses (e.g. entry fees to parks, museums.)
- Study tour and training programs personally conducted by one or more partners of CLS.
Quotations do NOT include:
- Return airfare to Canada.
- Translator, if provided by CLS.
- Health and/or liability insurance for members of the group
- Phytosanitary expenses (footwear or coveralls).
